We are seeking a driven and highly motivated Business Development Representative to be the first point of contact in our sales process. You will be responsible for identifying and creating new qualified sales opportunities through outbound prospecting and inbound lead follow-up. As the face of SmartWiz to potential customers, you will play a critical role in driving the growth of our customer base and contributing directly to revenue. Responsibilities

  • Utilize social media channels (direct messaging, facebook groups, etc.), email campaigns, and cold calls to generate leads, focusing on tax professionals and service bureau partners.
  • Reach out to and nurture middle-of-the-funnel leads, educating them on the benefits of SmartWiz’s AI-driven solutions.
  • Qualify leads and schedule product demos by building trust and demonstrating the value of our software to potential clients.
  • Confidently present product demonstrations over video calls, addressing potential client questions and helping to close sales.
  • Engage with software and distribution partners to generate new sales opportunities and develop long-term relationships.
  • Work closely with the marketing, and product teams to align on strategies for lead generation, product positioning, and market penetration.
  • Use CRM software to maintain records of leads, track progress, and refine outreach strategies based on performance metrics.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and webinars to network, promote SmartWiz, and generate new leads.
  • Creatively think of new ways to engage with potential customers outside of the current norm.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in sales development, lead generation, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage prospects via various channels (social media, email, phone, video).
  • A driven individual with a passion for sales and a track record of meeting or exceeding quotas.
  • Comfortable with using CRM software, email automation tools, and social media platforms for prospecting and tracking.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with the marketing, and product teams to ensure alignment and drive results.
  • Willingness to learn the ins and outs of our product and the tax industry, quickly adapting to new challenges and opportunities.
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced startup environment is a plus.
